Something to Think About

I saw this pic on The Sartorialist's blog, and it got me thinking...

What is it in life that makes a young person who's lost a limb want to get  back on a bike, take a walk or even just go out in public? It must take such motivation and positive thought patterns. Sometimes I don't even want to get out of bed, let alone get dressed and ride my bike, and I have all four of my limbs nicely intact.

So let this photo be kick up the ass and go forth and live thine life, young blog readers.

Motivation for the week.

Kisses

Burberry Fall 2012

Burberry showed at London Fashion Week on Monday to a collection of amazed attendees.

The look is pretty and countryfied, as English as can be - perfect for winter. Think tweeds, velvets, woollen jumpers and poor boy caps. Haute couture for a brisk walk in the English countryside, bring the hounds, righto!

The showstopper  - faux rain! The models walked out with umbrellas, shielding themselves from the 'rain'.

My absolute favourites were the animal (especially the owl) prints on the jumpers, and carried through into the clutches and bags. I loved the luxe velvet details juxtaposed against the harder, more voluminous tweeds. The looks were completed by adorable bow belts and towering platform shoots.

The menswear section was gorgeous as well.

Check out my favourite looks and details below, as well as a video!

What a beautiful show.

 Yay for Fashion Week!

Billie Achilleos for Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton commissioned the highly talented artist Billie Achilleos to design these gorgeous animal sculptures made from, *gasp*, hundreds of cut up Louis Vuitton bags, belts and wallets.

Why? To celebrate Louis Vuitton's 100th anniversary. The world renowned fashion house has named this campaign "Maroquinaris Zoologica".

The artist Billie Achilleos describes herself as a "Versatile Artist and Maker of Things". And that she is.

From Billie's blog: (which you should totally check out - it's awesome!)
"Each animal highlights an element in the design of the products. The Armadillo was to highlight the soft yet durable quality of the leather. The Chameleon displays the variety of colour. The Grasshopper is constructed from products with zips and poppers that make satisfying noises like that of the musically gifted insect. And finally my favorite, the Beaver, who’s functionality chops wood, builds dams…and provides cleaver ways of organizing ones life in men’s bags and wallets."

Monsieur Pricé

Mr Price has some really pretty things at the moment.

On my wish list are:
Jumpsuit - because I am way too lazy to put a top and shorts on

Feather tunic - because I am all about extra large
long tops, tights and sneakers for a laid back look
Flamingo Sweater - because you can
never go wrong with a cute sweater

Oh So Lovely Vintage

I have just discovered Oh So Lovely Vintage and I am totally in love!

Erin and Stef are two amazing ladies who run a vintage store out of an adorable 1950's caravan. Their blog is an inspiring, colourful site, with posts on vintage clothes, furniture, recipes, fashion and all things Canadian.

I love vintage anything and I when I stumbled upon their blog, I was stuck (in the best way) for hours. Definitely going onto my bookmarks list.

They have two weekly posts: Sixties Sundays - where they blog about anything Sixties, and Hues-day Tuesdays - where they post pics in their hue of the day. It is so original and such a unique concept.

Here are some photos (all taken from their blog ) I take no credit for them!

Til my next post darlings...
Kisses!

Lust List

Things I am drooling over.

1. Brogues - I really want a pair of shiny, not too dainty brogues, in black.

Asos.com

I tried a pair similar to this the other day. While I do love them, I felt a little clownish...

I have a thing for red shoes. And  love the pointy toe!
Dorothy Perkins
2. An  awesome vintagey record player
There is nothing more awesome than listening to your favorite song over a record player, I just get this indescribable feeling, like a warm wave crashing over me, forcing me to get up and do the Jitterbug. When I was a kid I had one, and would listen to the Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Del Shannon and make up little dances to perform for my teddys. I know, I know.
OMG- remember this?

I would love one in a box, so I can carry it everywhere! Picnic in the park, anyone?

Cleopatra

Yay! So I finally got the snippity snip I have wanting for sooo long. It's more vampire bangs then pin up, but I still love it!

Kind of like Elizabeth Taylor in 'Cleopatra'. Mmmm. Sexy.

And just look at these babies! Sporting the classic swallow print - Miu Miu platform Mary Janes. *love*
