I have the Instagram app installed on my iPhone. It is probably my most used app on the phone. It takes the most ordinary photos and turns them into amazingness.

Birthday Prettiness

View from my window
Hi peeps

My birthday was amazing. Went up Table Mountain for the first time ever! I can't believe I have lived here for so long and not gone up the magical mountain.

Very happy monkey on the mountain! It is so beautiful up there, and much bigger than I expected. When we went the weather was delicious. I even got a little burnt. Joy!

Weird little Chinese men all dressed the same................. Eh, ok then...

Went to Maharajah for Indian birthday feast, yum. Had the lamb korma. Creamy and sooo flavoursome. Markass had a Lamb Vindaloo. Hot hot hot! Wore my new burpday dress and THE SHOES (by Zoom)

Had a little get together at Narona, made those cupcakes I was on about, and drank lots of sparkling wine... MMMmmmm YUM.

Markass at Maharajah.. My heart.

Toodles, folksies.

Charly's Bakery Cookie Monster Cupcakes

I have been researching cupcakes and general yumminess in Cape Town... Have you heard of Charly's Bakery? They have OMG kind of delicious going on. The story behind their bakery is also great, check them out here.

If you're wondering why I am so obsessed with cupcakes, it's because it's my BDAYY on Thursday! So I will definitely be making cup cakes and probably cake too. I promise to take pics!!

Bicycles Make my Heart Go Boom

A Johnny Loco. My absolute dream, one day. *SIGH*
So, I bought my bicycle! The one I have been dreaming of!

When I lived in Germany, I rode my bike every day, all day. I took it every where, and loved it with all my heart. Unfortunately the people of Hamburg loved it just as much, many parts were pilfered.

The seat was stolen. That was not fun, finding my seatless bicycle at 2am after a night on the Reeperbahn*. Picture me, wobbly and seatless, sitting on the back rack, low rider, gangster style. Lolz.

The back tyre was stolen, as well as the entire bike on one occassion. The Germans sure do love themselves some free bicycle parts.

My new bike!
I bought this beauty last Saturday. Her name is Peggy-Sue. And I love her. A lot.

I have cycled to work and back every day this week, it was fab! My body was shocked though, 'What is this exercise thing any way?'

I feel good though, strong, and my wallet is fat! (I usually take a cab to work - R20)

The happy maiden upon her chariot

So today, I'm going to take a ride through the Gardens and feed the squirrels. See, bikes are good for the environment, squirrels and pidgeons get free food!!

*Reeperbahn - the red-light district of Hamburg, Germany. Lots of pubs, clubs, restaurant. Like Long street, but a suburb.

Goodbye my Lover

The music has to play while you read! Lolzzz:)

Nahoon,my love.

Kalk Bay

Goodbye sweat, goodbye dust, goodbye dry throat and itchy eyes. Goodbye sundowners, goodbye long, languid days on the beach, goodbye tan, goodbye romantic walks with my boy and goodbye picnics in the park.

I bid thee well. Au Revoir. Auf Wiedersehen. I kiss my lover goodbye to turn and greet my Winter. Hello, Wie Gehts, Ma Cherie, I have missed you!

Nelson, you cutie

Welcome woolly hats and mittens. Welcome hot chocolate and thrilling, icy rides on my bike through the crunchy leaves. Welcome afternoon darkness. Welcome to staring at the gray outside, wondering when it will stop pouring. Welcome to warming the water before washing my face.Welcome sore fingers. WELCOME!

I am so looking forward to my winter. Cape Town's summer has been brutal with many a sunburn and even a day that supposedly had the most radiation ever! Apparently I can't go for an X-ray for 3 months now! SHAWAWAW!

I have nominated to stay in a hot cafe for two hours than walk the 15 minutes home. I have not worn pants or jeans for approximately 2 months now, I'm not sure where they even are.

But I have also sat outside in the sun for hours, having beer upon beer, and maybe a few margeritas (*hic*) outside on the streets of Cape Town's cafe's and bars, and lain on the beach with my girls, or sat in a forest with a ray of sunlight kissing my cheek hello... *LOVE*
Summer, I shall miss thee, my fair darling. I will gaze upon thee in my gray wintery memory.

So when I think of a palmlined beach on a chilly, steam on my breath kinda day, I will remember looking forward to Winter on a pretty summer's day.

A Hustle 'n' a Bustle

Skirts with a bustle... My new fetish/obsession/craze.......... MUST FIND ONE! But not just any old bustle... A lacy, frothy one. To go with an oversized hair bow, and 60's eye makeup. A romantic, "I love dressing up and sipping espresso's all day" kind of skirt.

Remember the feeling you got when you were a little girl when you wore your mom's high heels, a feather in your hair, pink lipstick and fed your Barbies and bears cupcakes and tea? That's the feeling I get when I think about the bustle. It's a magical girly way of accessorizing your outfit.

What I would really like is a white lacy bustle that can be tied on to any skirt... Like this tie-on bib. Adorable with a plain melange tshirt and black shorts <3

The bustle dates back to the days of corsets and high teas, when the more material on the back of your skirt, the better.

It's been brought back today by Lady Gaga, Kristen Stewart and hopefully soon, moi!

Whaddya think? To bustle or not to bustle?

Me thinks me know the answer....

Tomorrow is Coming Today

Wow! It's been so long! Apologies, blogfollowers.

I have started a new job, moved into a new flat and reached new levels of stupidity, all in the space of two months.

But I have learnt so much and gained so much. Every day that I live I'm realising that my life is going to go the way I want it to only if I work hard at it. I can either stress and worry, and wonder if things are ever going to go my way, or I can put on my big-girl pants, suck it up and do my shit. :) To quote Fuzigish, "Tomorrow is coming today."

Before J Leto turned eyeliner
Enough of the blondie philosophy class.

30 Seconds to Mars is coming to Cape Town, whose going? I mean, I know they are a bit gay, but I still listen to their first and second albums (sometimes).

Eyeliner Days

I haven't got tickets yet - and the best ones are sold out. Is it really worth it to go when the only tickets left are seated? I wanna jump around and make a noise!

Oh, and my new TV!!! Woot!
This thing is amazzzzzing!!
Listen here, bru!
